And yes, it stays 'on' always, even when you are no longer moving. They may have something called sprint, and yes, usually a toggle, But also, in my experience, it doesn't have any sort of endurance pool associated with it, so you just toggle it on then simply leave it on always, unless you're in a situation where you need more careful movement control such as on a small ledge or something. (Note: That said, most MMO's don't *really* have a comparable sprint functionality.
